ArThecThe PEARL method, developed by the Polish company Arthec, is an innovative approach to joint cartilage regeneration using tissue engineering and stem cells. The process involves creating high-quality cartilage tissue in the laboratory, which is then implanted into the knee joint to restore its biological function. In the future, the method could encompass the treatment and regeneration of hip joints, temporomandibular joints, and spine.
The goal of the PEARL method is the complete regeneration of cartilage damage, restoring full joint function and preventing further progression of degenerative disease and the need for joint replacement.
Our PERL project and method aim to restore joint surface function using tissue engineering, allowing for full cartilage regeneration in the early stages of degenerative disease. This groundbreaking approach will not only halt the progression of the disease but also eliminate the need for endoprostheses, which often lead to permanent disability.
