ABAN Fund's operating model and track record have won the trust and recognition of the National Center for Research and Development, which in 2017 resulted in obtaining funding under the Intelligent Development Operational Program (Measure 1.3 Sub-measure 1.3.1 Support for Research and Development Projects in the Preseed Phase by Proof of Concept Funds - BRIdge Alpha). Among the 98 applications submitted in this competition, the company received the highest score. On April 12, 2018, it was officially entered into the register of Alternative Investment Company Managers by the Financial Supervision Commission, and six months later it made its first investment under the Bridge Alpha Program.
The Bridge Alpha Program consists of dozens of investment funds that have received 1.5 billion zlotys to support research and development projects in the early stages of development. The essence of the Bridge Alpha funds is to combine public funds obtained from the National Research and Development Center with capital contributed by private investors, and their purpose is to support the commercialization of the results of scientific research, development work and innovative ideas and modern technologies that fit into the priorities defined by the National Intelligent Specializations.
TERRA Seed is continuously looking for ventures that it can support with up to PLN 1 million to complete R&D work and start commercializing the results of the ongoing project. As of the end of 2019, there were 8 ventures in the fund's portfolio.
