Centrum Badań Mikrobiologicznych im. dr Jana BobraThe Microbiology and AutoVaccine Research Center performs microbiological analyses of clinical materials from the respiratory tract, genitourinary tract, skin lesions (abscesses, boils, acne, etc.), surgical wounds and more.
Microbiological analysis, depending on the type of material, is conducted for aerobic bacteria, anaerobic bacteria, yeast-like fungi, dermatophytes, etc. Depending on the microorganism (etiological agent) sought, diagnosis is carried out by the classical method (culture on medium, culture, isolation and identification) or with the use of commercial growth-culture, serological, biochemical tests and genetic probes.
The laboratory has its own collection of reference strains and systematically undergoes quality control of the tests performed by the National Reference Center for Quality Testing in Microbiological Diagnostics.
Every year, the Center for Microbiological Research and Autovaccination is certified for the quality of microbiological tests performed (POLMICRO).
Since 2001, the Center for Microbiological Research and Autovaccines began implementing a Quality System in accordance with the requirements of EN 15198.
In parallel with the analyses performed, continuous control of the parameters of the tests performed, the methods and diagnostic procedures used, with particular emphasis on the techniques for determining drug susceptibility, is carried out.
