Akademia Wychowania Fizycznego im. Bronisława Czecha w KrakowieThe main directions of ongoing scientific research and development work at the AWF are the natural and humanistic foundations of physical education, sports, rehabilitation, tourism and recreation.
Scientific research undertaken within the University's organizational units is carried out in the form of: own research, promoter's and postdoctoral research projects, commissioned research, research and development and service work (including opinions and expertise), commissioned by national institutions and business entities, as well as work included in research projects (including the European Union).
Research and development activities are financed from budget funds, from funds obtained from principals as payment for research and service work performed, as well as from foreign funds (including from the European Union).
AWF has been cooperating with business entities from all over Poland for many years, carrying out numerous orders for routine research, expert opinions and scientific opinions, as well as other forms of consulting (consultation, participation in scientific councils, expert teams, etc.).
Scientific and research activities also include investments for scientific research, as well as work supporting scientific research, i.e. dissemination, promotion, popularization of scientific achievements and innovative ventures using the results of scientific research.
AWF also conducts widely developed scientific cooperation and student exchange with most European countries (UK, Finland, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Slovenia) within the framework of EU programs implemented by the University, i.e. LIFE-LONG LEARNING PROGRAMME ERASMUS.
AWF Kraków educates about 5000 students (full-time and part-time studies) at 3 faculties (Physical Education and Sports, Physical Rehabilitation, Tourism and Recreation) and about 90 participants in doctoral studies.
