The National Science Centre (NCN) has introduced the IMPRESS-U competition, aimed at bolstering the scientific prowess in Ukraine while fostering new opportunities for collaboration between Polish and Ukrainian researchers, as well as those from the USA and Baltic countries.



The goals of the IMPRESS-U program are as follows:

• Support for outstanding scientific and technical research, education, and innovation through international cooperation,

• Promotion and facilitation of the integration of Ukrainian scientists into the global scientific community.

Applications can be submitted to the lead agency from August 2, 2023, until December 31, 2025.



Partner institutions to which foreign teams will be able to apply for co-financing of research projects are US National Academy of Sciences (US NAS) - in the case of researchers from Ukraine, Research Council of Lithuania (LMT), Latvian Council of Science (LCS) and Estonian Research Council (ETAG).



Polish scientists can also submit applications under the IMPRESS-U program to the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange. NAWA finances those projects in the case of which the American team applies to the NSF for the so-called International Supplements, i.e., additional funds to internationalize projects already supported by NSF and in progress.
