AUTOASSESS, an EU-funded project that leverages AI and Robotics to perform safe vessel inspections, has announced the launch of its second open call: the Open Call #2 for Innovative Tech Solutions.



With the Open Call #2 for Tech Innovations, AUTOASSESS invites startups and SMEs to present their innovative technology solutions that are aligned with the project’s use cases and answer to project defined challenges.



Benefits for Startups / SMEs:

The programme aims to select and award nine (9) applications that have submitted the most technologically advanced and impactful solutions aligned with the defined challenge topics, that will be invited to take part in a 9-month programme and:

• Receive a grant of up to €150k.

• Benefit from expert guidance and mentorship, training, and access to infrastructure aligned with challenge requirements.

• Promote their involvement in the project by sharing success stories and leveraging additional channels, while increasing their visibility within the AUTOASSESS community.

• Contribute to real impact on demonstrators and end-user entities.



How does it work?

The AUTOASSESS Open Call #2 for Tech Innovations has defined seven specific challenges and one open challenge. Applicants are required to align their proposal with one of the challenges. Challenge and requirements details are provided in the Guide for Applicants.



• Challenge 1 - SOT-aided NDT Thickness Tool for a Fully-Actuated Aerial Robot

• Challenge 2- Remote Inspection Support and Augmented Collaboration between Onboard and Shore-Based Experts

• Challenge 3 - Autonomous Patrolling Concepts and Early Event Detection Frameworks for Engine Rooms

• Challenge 4 - Vessel Structural Condition Analysis and Hotspot Identification via Digital Representation and Modelling for Robotic Inspection

• Challenge 5 - Combined Qualitative and Quantitative Assessment of Structural Integrity Using Imaging and Measurements

• Challenge 6 - NDT-MINI: Ultra-Lightweight, low power (<10W) ACFM/ECT Sensor for Autonomous Drone Inspection

• Challenge 7 - Graphical User Interface for UAS

• Challenge 8 - Open Challenge: Tell us what AUTOASSESS needs (within the project framework)

About AUTOASSESS:

AUTOASSESS – “Autonomous aerial inspection of GNSS-denied and confined critical infrastructures” is an EU-funded project that aims to remove human surveyors from dangerous enclosed areas such as ballast tanks or cargo holds.
