More collaboration in the fight against cancer!



This was the motto of this year's edition of Life Science Open Space - an event organized for the 12th time by the Klaster LifeScience Kraków Foundation.



Life Science Open Space - The Open Innovation Forum is a place where people and companies from various industries and sectors of the life science environment gather, united by the will to cooperate and create innovations for health and quality of life.   





What issues were discussed during the four days of LSOS'2022?



This year's main theme was collaboration in the fight against cancer. The agenda of the thematic sessions consisted of presentations and expert panels focusing on possibilities and options for cooperation in the areas of medical, food and environmental technologies. The afternoons were dedicated to topics important for start-ups, and the last day was entirely devoted to issues related to career and business development.





What was the program of this year's event like?



Life Science Open Space is distinguished by its formula, as it is mostly co-created by the participants. Over 70 experts, panellists and presenters from all over the world took part in the forum. The event gathered over 300 people on the LSOS digital Collaboration Platform. All sessions were also broadcast live on YouTube.





The LSOS program consisted of thematic and business sessions, and each of them was led by an organization that is an expert in a selected area:





• Health Tech – Integrate to accelerate (leader: Sano – Center for Computational Medicine)



• Food Tech - Solutions for cancer patients (leaders: EIT Food, Intermag)



• Healthy Environs – Avoidable causes of cancer (leader: Institute of Mineral Resources and Energy Management of the Polish Academy of Sciences)



• Business Development - Managing the fight against cancer (leader: CE BioForum)



• Carrer in Life Science - In search of talents and development path (leader: ExecMind. Life Science Executive Search)



• Life Science StartUp Scena – Pitch your idea to investors (leaders: COBIN Angels, LifeScience Kraków EIT Health Hub, BHT Startup Hub).





The last event was the Inspirations session - a meeting of participants in Kazimierz district, honored with a speech by Dr. Maciej Kawecki - a promoter of science and innovation.   





LSOS Collaboration Platform - a new place on the life science map



This year, LSOS was organized for the first time on the LSOS digital cooperation platform - https://lsos.lifescience.pl - a new, virtual place created for environments related to the development of innovation in the field of life science. Until now, there was no dedicated tool that would allow establishing and conducting cooperation on a daily basis. The platform gives you this opportunity – the cooperation can last constantly -all year round.



For registered users, there is a number of available tools that enable:





• Creating individual and company profiles



• Presentation of your products / services



• Adding cooperation offers



• Networking, one-on-one conversations and meetings



• Access to Experts



• Joining SIG topic groups



• Using the emerging knowledge base



• Using various other resources



• Access to the life science community as well as other communities available in the Innoloft system on which the platform is placed.
